INOXPA takes part, as an industrial partner, in the WINENVIRONMENT, a European project within the framework of ECO-INNOVATION. The participants are vineyard owners and winemakers from 5 countries (Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Hungary). Project will take 36 months, from May 2009 to April 2012.

WINENVIRONMENT aims to demonstrate ecological innovative techniques and an environmental methodology for vine cultivation and wine production, which will contribute to the saving of the environment. Vine culture is one of the cultures having the worst impact on the environment. Besides water consumption in the cellar is a major concern for the wine production.

    Objectives of the project are:
to lower the use of phyto sanitary and pesticides products in the vineyard by 20%, to increase the treatment and the recycling of the waste by 10%.
to decrease the use of water in the cellar by 30%.
Considering that, in average, it is necessary to use 5 l of water to produce 1 l of wine and that the European wine production was around 178 M hl in 2007, the saving in water consumption could theoretically reach 267 M hl. INOXPA proposes new products and systems that may help the end user reduce water consumption and recover waste products from the pipelines.
to contribute to the implementation of an environment methodology by the European winegrowers. The Vignerons Indépendants de France (VIF) association has developed and is implementing a specific environmental methodology called “QUALENVI”, which will be validated during the project through 15 specific demonstrations and workshops in Europe.
