Ein Flachschauglas besteht aus einem Glas, das mittels einer sanitären DIN-Verschraubung befestigt wird. Schaugläser werden in Tanks eingebaut, um die Inspektion von Produkt, Füllstand, Prozess usw. zu ermöglichen. Sie werden häufig in der Lebensmittel-, Kosmetik-, Pharma- und Feinchemieindustrie eingesetzt.
